HypnoBirthing Practitioner Training Courses
How is the course structured?
The HypnoBirthing Practitioner training is a dynamic, four-day, two-part Childbirth Educator Program consisting of a 16-hour "Introduction to Hypnosis for Childbirth" or "Birth Basics" module (depending on whether you are a birth professional or hypnotherapist), and a 16-hour "Certification Workshop for HypnoBirthing®".
What do I get?
In addition to the training itself, you will receive your own copy of the text, 2 audio tape cassettes, a video tape with 7 stories of HypnoBirthing®, a 70-page class syllabus, scripts and class outlines, 6 posters, and miscellaneous forms and handouts.
As well as all that, you will also be provided with ongoing support and an active online client referral system - by email, on the phone, and by postal mail.
What will I learn?
This course will teach you:
- An understanding of the workings of the body's own natural "epidural"
- Relaxation techniques that eliminate the Fear-Tension Syndrome
- An understanding of why women in other cultures have easier, more comfortable birthings
- How the mother's body is designed to work in neuromuscular harmony with nature
- Proven hypnotic techniques to bring about easier, more comfortable labour and birthing
You will also learn:
- How to eliminate fear and replace it with confidence and understanding
- The source of the myth that pain is a necessary accompaniment in normal birthing
- How to teach the birthing companion hypnotic rapport

Segment 1 (Option A) - Introduction to Hypnosis for Birthing
Option A of segment 1 is mandatory for anyone who is not a hypnotherapist, including midwives, birth professionals, HypnoBirthing® mums, etc.

IMPORTANT: All students must attend both Segment 1 (either Option A - Introduction to Hypnosis for Childbirth or Option B - Introduction to Birthing Basics) for the first two days, and segment 2 (Practitioner Certification) for the second two days.
Certification
After your training, you will be asked to submit an assignment for marking, to assess your understanding of the course. If you pass, you will then be accepted as a certified HypnoBirthing® Practitioner.
To maintain your certification status, you will also be required to undertake a certain amount of continuing professional development - full details will be provided if you decide to train.
