not received any news from hypnobirthing course review

Postby rikathypnosolve » Tue Mar 29, 2005 11:24 am

Hi there, not sure who the contact is in the uk for these enquiries.

I did the course in June 2004. I posted and emailed my review (test paper).

Since september I have been gently chasing the review. Understanding that there are only 4 or five people in the association in the us, Mickey must be very busy. I have posted a note on thios board (cant seem to find it anymore). I have emailed a contact in the uk, also emailed two people in the usa including Mickey and Mary Ann.

I was wondering if its just me that is having extremely bad luck. I know that Mickey definately has the review from end January but am a little concerned that I will be approaching my 9 months from the time I did the course.

Maybe this is an opportunity for there to be a person in th uk that is repsonsible for UK based people, and who is able to subjectively mark the reviews , handle books, cds, tapes etc. Some type of coordinator that would stop people having to order bits and peices from the usa, which can be expensive and hassle.

Of course if my review is terrible then I would also like to know so I can correct it. I was told to practice before I got it back as it can take a while, but feel that is unprofessional to not have a certificate and confirmation of a certain standard.

Any thoughts?

Hi Richard,

Congratulations!

Your website is excellent, you've done a great job with it.
I found with my website it took quite a long time for it to come up on web searches, and doing plenty of web "marketing" (if that's the word) - listing it with sites like Google and yahoo etc, was tedious but well with the time.

Hope you're busy with loads of clients soon,

Kind regards,

Suzanne

Some technical suggestions

Postby gordon_mullan » Fri Apr 08, 2005 7:57 pm

Hi Rik

Overall look is pretty good - nice colours, helpful information etc. The following suggestions may help (in no particular order)

1. Have more information page titles. These are your "headlines" in the search engines. Instead of "Home", use something like "HypnoBirthing Southampton - self hypnosis for labour and childbirth".

2. AboutHypnoBirthing - should be two words.

3. Use proper HTML heading tags - H1, H2, etc. and use your keywords (especially HypnoBirthing) in them.

4. Try to use something for building the website that doesn't introduce so much extraneous code. Good, clean, standards-compliant HTML and external Cascading StyleSheets are generally reckoned to be best.

To see what I mean, try doing Tools->View Source in your browser on your site, and then try the same thing on the UK site. Which is easier to 'read'?

These are just some initial suggestions. There's loads more, so take a look at "Have Pity On Poor Googley-eyes" for a starter (http://www.wilsonweb.com/wct7/seo_webpage.htm).

Hope that helps.

Best regards
Gordon
