I am currently a HR Manager in the NHS and following the birth of my son (unfortunately without the benefit of HypnoBirthing )wish to embark on a career change as a hypnobirthing practioner and in the longer term hypnotherapist/psychotherapist. I understand that I will need to attend the normal 4-day course covering hypotherapy basics, hypnobirthing and then attend a further 2-day course covering the clinical aspects of the birth process before I am deemed to be qualified.
I wanted to ask your advice on whether qualifying without being a certified hypnotherapist or clinician, will still enable me to build a business based on my keen interest in pain free birth and hypnotherapy.
I am already an experienced trainer/facilitator due to my HR career so far and I intend to commence my diploma in hypnotherapy/psychotherapy in the next couple of years as I want to have another baby first. I have experienced hypnotherapy for my own wellbeing and this positive experience combined with being a new mother has been instrumental in influencing my decision to change my career. If I am fortunate enough to conceive again, I will definitely employ the services of a HypnoBirthing practitioner to make things easier second time around. In the meantime I sincerely hope that hypnobirthing will provide me with a robust and incredibly fulfilling new career pathway.
Any advice anyone can give- including any hypnobirthing practitioners who are neither hypnotherapists nor midwives, doulas nor hold other relevent clinical qualifications - is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!!
