cost of materials provided for classes

Postby catherinelee » Mon Jul 06, 2009 1:40 pm

I'm thinking of doing the practitioner course and to work out overall costs, can anyone advise me of how much per couple it costs to provide cd's, materials etc which they use for themselves after the course? Also, if there are other practitioners in your own area, can clients contact any practitioner or is it like having your own territory to work in? Also, apart from annual renewal fee i've read about, is a percentage of each client's fee paid to hypnobirthing? I'd appreciate any info, as i want to have a clear idea of the costs involved - i already work as a self-employed therapist and other organisations who offer similar training seem a bit reluctant to advise prospective practitioners of the real costs involved in setting up and running a practice.

The training costs £695-see here http://www.hypnobirthing.co.uk/practiti ... ourse_cost
Then you have insurance, I think mine costs about £130.
I think the book and cd costs about £20 (when you buy it the cost is in dollars)
Room hire-if you need to hire a room, when I started I taught individually, I currently pay £25 for three hours.
Theres no area, I think in Nottingham there is about 4 or 5 of us, when I started I was the only person, but as theres more its more people advertising etc and theres more than enough work to go around :) Clients are free to contact as many people as they want, choice is good, its gives a variety of class times etc.
You have to print out the handouts but that doesn't cost too much.
The renewall fee-$70, you don't pay a fee per client or percentage or anything.
Then any advertising you do etc.
Thats about it I think.

Danielle's summary is pretty much spot on. I can't think of anything else either.
