Hi
Just thought I'd say hello. I'm 29 weeks pregnant and thinking about having a home birth and I'm now looking into Hypnobirthing. Its all a bit new to me so any advice would be great.
I've just ordered the "Hypnobirthing: The Mongan Method: A Natural Approach to a Safe, Easier, More Comfortable Birthing with CD" so hopefully that will provide me with some further information.

Hi Sarah,
I am also a newbie in here. I can't go to any classes on this as there aren't any being run yet in South Australia - it is relatively new here in Australia, and only available in the larger capital cities like Sydney. So I have also bought the same book & CD that you have.
I am finding it very interesting reading, and the CD is amazing relaxation. I don't get very far - I drift away as soon as I go into my inner peace sanctuary! And every time I listen I don't get nearly as far in as the last time. I was worried at first, but now that I am half way through the book, I know that drifting away is actually a good sign. The only time I managed to hear the whole CD was when I was waiting for DH to come home, so I guess I had one ear tuned in to listen for his car, and didn't let the CD work.
I have also bought another CD which has a very similar effect. When it ends, I know I am awake because I switch off the CD player, but I can't remember a word from about 5mins in! It is called HYPNOBIRTHING by Tanya Coterell.
I am hoping to gain some tips from this forum that will help me out greatly since I can't go to classes. I am due to have my first baby on November 16 - we are so excited! |
