Dear Alison,

It's a great pleasure to announce our Birthlight Trust Launch Conference at Homerton College in Cambridge next July. After years of making friends and strengthening the Birthlight vision in the UK and abroad, this international gathering brings together eminent speakers for a celebration and confirmation of our commitment to integrated care and a holistic approach to pregnancy, birth and babies.


This is an exciting time, when recent scientific research is converging to offer a better understanding of early brain development and to elucidate traditional practices around birth and parenting. These can be adapted in new ways that suit urban life-styles in today's world. We are honored to host visionaries whose life-work has made a difference to the ways in which we welcome babies into the world. It is a special joy for me that Birthlight, after being constituted as a Charity through the dedication and skills of our Cambridge Trustees over many years, is to be launched as a Trust with the support of these extraordinary pioneers.

As Birthlight has grown, I no longer know all members personally. I would like to address a particular invite, however, to those of you who have been involved in the informal beginnings and the early courses. Thank you again for taking Birthlight forward in ways I did not imagine. In true Birthlight style, we have planned this Conference as an interactive event that I hope will nurture and inspire all participants.

There will be a reception for the Launch of the Birthlight Trust and a party for Birthlight families in the college grounds. The conference will also include displays of art, photos and baby artifacts, poster session, video gallery and a exhibition.
