Hi Everybody,
I'm on your list of members and haven't been very active on the UK site in the past year. I lost the site of the UK HB forum when my computer crashed so I've been very neglectful about participating. It looks like your forum has been quite active, which is great. I'm from Woodstock NY in the USA so I'm fairly active with The Nest, especially with back-channeling.
Sue Austin posted on the US Nest a couple of days ago regarding posterior
positioning in babies and I sent her a bunch of information about it. In
our communications she mentioned that one of her moms had been caught in the tube the day of the bombings. I hadn't known before that she was in the UK.
What a terrible experience for all of you. I can relate because we're only 100 miles north of NYC and some of my family was involved in the events of 9/11, fortunately they're fine.
Anyway since Sue is in England I decided to mention that my 19 year old, and very independent daughter is about to go to England for 2 1/2 weeks. She wants to look for a job and hopefully find a flat, or an au pere job so that she can have a place to stay for the 6 months that she'll be able to live there without a visa. She's going to be in Buckinghamshire for a week, in a hostel, and then she's off to either Cornwall or Devon for the rest of the time. She would love to live over there so this is her attempt. She decided this about 3 weeks ago and just moved on putting it together. She's staying outside of London, mostly, during this short trip because of what's going on. I don't know how she picked the particular towns that she did but she just looked in a travel guide and chose. She's doing it alone, knowing nobody. To me, she's a brave soul. 2 days after her 18th
birthday she went to New Zealand on her own for 3 months. She always has wanted to go and live in England . I'm sure this will be great growth for her even if she doesn't find a job and it just ends up being a holiday for her.
I also want to add that my daughter is looking for au pere work as a
possibility. She's done a lot of mother's helper work, babysitting, loves
kids and is excellent with them. I realized that the HB forum is a wonderful place to possibly connect her with a job...a person to call etc.
I know this is off topic. I talked to Gordon before I posted to make sure it would be ok. I look forward to hearing from anybody that chooses to write.
I'm really happy that we have such a strong contingent of HypnoBirthing practitioners in the UK. I hope that I get to meet some of you at the Conclave in AZ.
Warmly,
Jency Elliott CH, HBCE
