|
|
I'm so excited, BBC Radio Nottingham just rang me and asked me if I wanted to do an interview on the Breakfast Show tomorrow. They've already done a a pre-recorded interview to slip in between the news bulletins. Was a little nervous, but hey - great news.
It's on at 7.15 tomorrow morning, so very early start but how could I say no!
Interesting she asked me about risk twice.....anyone got any good soundbites ?

The soundbites were okish, the caught me on the hop yesterday to pre-record them, but the live show went really well. He was clearly uncomfortable talking about birth, but it was really positive and they had done their homework.
There was a lovely moment when it somehow got onto the dentistry bit from Alternative Therapies last week, and the presenter replied sceptically, mmmm yes but you can't always believe what you see - and I just said "well it was filmed live by the BBC and shown on BBC2", which stopped him dead in his tracks.
The icing on the cake was that they had phoned up the maternity unit at QMC (the largest hospital in the region) who said that they "gave their unqualified backing to the technique and that it were no known risks to mum or baby" which was a real endorsement."
I did have a bit of coaching, my husband does the media training for DRs at the British Medical Association!
My husband has downloaded it and it converting it to mp3 so I'll post it on my website for people to listen to. I'll let you know when it's up.

Well done! have you had any enquiries from it yet?
I did BBC Cambridgeshire last year but not a sausage from it. |

Thanks for all your feedback. A reflexologist I know who's husband works fro the beeb said that the interviewer was notoriously aggressive so I think I came off quite lightly! No responses directly, but I guess it's the drip feed effect - I had a big feature in the Notts Evening Post at the end of last year and Danielle did a piece as well recently.
