Apologies for gatecrashing the site! We need to find a lady that is expecting a baby in July who is interested in receiving help from renowned hypnotherapist Paul McKenna to help with pain control. Paul McKenna, a man that is widely seen as the world's most successful Hypnotist, is keen to work with one lady over the next month or so, to be her Hypno-Birthing tutor. Are you, or do you know, someone that would like to take up this opportunity?

With regard to the birth itself - we are happy to film in the birthing room or not - that would be up to the Mum at the time. The Director that would be on standby for when the contractions start is a lady that has worked closely with midwifes, expectant Mums AND mothers that are in labour as she worked on a documentary specifically about 'birth' for the BBC earlier this year. She is extremely understanding and experienced and has worked with Paul over the last few months too. We want to share with you as much as you are willing to share.

Whilst it is entirely up to any pregnant woman reading this invitation whether she wants to participate, I would point out two things:

1. Paul McKenna will be doing some form of "hypnosis for childbirth" - not HypnoBirthing

2. The whole thing about HypnoBirthing is that it is a complete childbirth education, and comes from the principle that without fear, and without tension, childbirth need not hurt in the first place. The self-hypnosis is therefore not directly to do with pain control, as when you are sufficiently relaxed, the pain need not be there in the first place.

And Dominique - please be very clear that Paul must not refer to what he is doing as HypnoBirthing (however you spell it). It is a trademarked description, and refers specifically to HypnoBirthing - The Mongan Method.

Hypnosis for 'masking' pain in childbirth is very different to the full HypnoBirthing education programme.

As a final note, when this proposal was put to the UK Advisory Board, and then to Marie Mongan herself, it was turned down.

Whilst we appreciate that hypnosis for childbirth can be useful, and is certainly better than nothing, this program and invitation is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by The HypnoBirthing Institute.
