| I'm 36 weeks now and am suffering something similar to cholestasis. I have generalised itching but all my bile acid tests have come back normal, the doctors are unsure why it's happening. I won a competition for a hynobirthing course and that's why i am only starting it now (hope i get the hang of it before the big day!!!) but everytime i try to relax i go crazy with itching. just wondered if this has happened to anybody else and how they overcame it, because i'm really struggling and worried about the birth. |

Hi Sammie,
When I first trained as a therapist I always used to itch when I relaxed, and I have heard some women say the same thing when they begin using the Rainbow Relaxation, but once you really start to get to grips with the relaxation techniques and let go then you will begin to notice it less and less, the more and more deeply relaxed you become.
Try using the control valve technique to switch the itching off. I have clients that I treat with eczema and I use a similar technique. If your practitioner is a hypnotherapist she should be able to help you with this and other visualisations.
Best of luck and enjoy the course!
