Hello all, my name is jen and i am 34 weeks pregnant with twins and have started reading the hypnobirthing book with absolute joy and inspiration. I just wondered if there were any of you out there with twin birthig experiences to share as although i am thouroughly looking forward to the birth, i am unsure about whether i should have them at home,in the midwife lead unit or standard delivery unit. all the medical practitioners i have spokn to are pointing to the delivery unit and in many ways i appreciate that there are higher risks with twins and should be closer to the emergency care that may be needed. i know that i can make the hospital environment more soothing with low lighting and music etc but am sure that there will be more doctors coming in wanting to monitor the babies and "wire me up". whilst i am happy to make my needs clear in my birth plan, is this something that will really be honored on a standard delivery unit? i also want to do as much of the labouring at home as possible. any stories or advice wuld be very much appreciated.

Hi Jen, I am afraid I cannot help - but I am in the same situation and would love to hear from other twin mums who have tried hypnobirthing too. I have been watching the HB calm births online, and asked to birth at home but met with a lot of negativity.. not going to repeat the diatribe as trying to block it out and listen to only positive affirmations!

I just saw that you posted this in September! So if you ever do come on again I'd love to hear how you got on...
