Hello from a newbie

Hi All,

Just saying hello. I've done "the course", being slack with my practice, and 29+4 weeks.

Really looking forward to the big day - whenever it is!

All the best,
Pam

Hey

I am a newbie too, 35 weeks ish - I have completed the course but I have been lax in my daily practice. However, I finished work yesterday so I will have plenty of time for my hour of affirmations and rainbow relaxation. I have also been doing the perineal massage - I hope it helps but I don't think I go in far enough - TMI!!

I am actually looking forward to labour and meeting our Minnie Binnie and seeing what she looks like - BTW that won't be her real name!! Love the name Minnie but I will never get to use it with having Binnie as a surname!

Hello there and welcome ladies

With regards to practice, don't put undue pressure on yourselves even a little bit is better than nothing but the more second nature the techniques are the better. Also, you don't need to practice all in one go. A few min of breathing when you wake up and before you go to sleep, listening to the CD, a moment of facial relaxation if you notice your face tensing up, say an affirmation to yourself whenever you think about your birth all adds up. I usually tell my couples to pick a few key affirmations, write the down and put them in places around the house that you see once a day. Whenever you see it, say it with a smile. Trust your bodies to let you know what you need, believe in what HypnoBirthing has taught you and look forward to a calm and gentle birth.

Do come back and let us know how you get on.
