I just watched it last night on 4OD.................. I have to admit I didn't really want to watch it as the trailers had looked pretty alarmist/dramatic etc etc but felt that I ought to as potential clients will no doubt be watching it.

Steve & his wife made me laugh................ personally I would have thrown him out of the room forcibly, but it seemed to be the dynamic of their relationship.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be as a programme, but we shall see how things proceed. I hope they show a balance & represent how birth can be and is on a daily basis in all maternity units up and down the country. If it's all screamy, shouty, sweary, high tension & drama births it's just the same old same old.

Whenever I have been asked to speak about HypnoBirthing to groups of midwives what they always say is " Don't you think we see normal, calm births?" and I always respond that yes of course but here's techniques which really can make a huge difference to anyone.

Hmmmmmmmmmm... won't be holding my breath with this programme!

Warmest regards,

I only watched one of these programmes, but being pregnant with twins on the way - I though I don't want to watch women screaming and in pain begging for pain relief as I really, really want to give hypnobirthing a shot and I think it'll be.. damaging? That is perhaps too stronger word. Anyway, I really would like a programme on HB as I have watched a few videos online, and it calms me and I wish I could see more mums smiling and drug free for selfish reasons that it helps me feel more positive towards my own birthing!

Great advice! I don't think damaging is too strong a word. As you probably know, there are plenty of lovely births. Just google "hypnobirth" on youtube and enjoy! :D
