When to start HypnoBirth course?

Postby AliR1980 » Tue Aug 26, 2008 2:30 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this board, and am pregnant with my first baby :D

We're planning to have a HypnoBirth course taught one-on-one at home with a local practitioner. We are unsure when to start the course. The course leader suggested anytime between 20 and 30 weeks, and I was just wondering when other people started, and what others would recommend?

Best wishes,

Ali

Hi Ali, congrats on your pregnancy!

I think I was about 28 weeks when I started. It's given me plenty of time to practice the relaxation techniques and now I feel pretty ready (impatient even!) with 5 weeks to go.

You could always get the book and read it a couple of times, it really helped me out because I had a pretty rough first half of my pregnancy and was bloody miserable about it for months but when I read the book it made me feel soooo much better, I'm even enjoying it now (apart from the swollen ankles!).
