Trying to Buy Hypnobirthing CD

Postby sjlaw » Fri Oct 21, 2011 7:53 am

Hello - I'm hoping someone can help me with a little problem...

I have completed a HypnoBirthing course, and during on of the sessions the practitioner played a lovely script, read by Marie Mongan, in which you walk down a corridor to a control room, and then find and use your sensory gate valve. I really found the imagery helpful and would like to incorporate it into my daily practice.

The problem is, I can't find the CD anywhere! Not the US or UK store, or online anywhere. Does anybody have it, or know where I could get it? Even a written script that my husband could read would be fab!

Thank you!

Hi

May I suggest getting in touch with the practitioner you did your course with. It sounds like what you are describing is script generated from pages 113 to 119 in the HypnoBirthing book. I encourage my parents-to-be to read through those pages and practise them together. If you have anymore questions you are welcome to contact me.

Regards,

Thanks Soshanna - That is the script I'm after, but I find it difficult to practice using the script from the book as I find it a little incomplete. How do you suggest your couples practice?

My practitioner told me to go to the Hypnobirthing Institute online store, but the CD wasn't there - I thought someone here may know where I could find a copy. I have been put in touch with UK Distribution though, so hopefully I can resolve the issue!

HI Sarah

Sorry for the delay in replying, it has been a busy week. How did you get on with the UK distribution office? To my knowledge there is no official recording of the script, just the written version that we as practitioners are given that is to be done with couples during class. We have been informed that we are not to give that script to couples but to rather encourage them to develop their own version from the book which builds your confidence in what you are doing.

I do the script in class and tell my couples to practise at home using the book as a guide, it really is all in there. Use the words from the book, go with the flow, trust your intuition and work it into something that sits well and flows freely and easily for you. It takes a bit of practice and playing around. You don't want to rely on a script verbatim during labour so the more you practice the more naturally the terminology, tone, rhythm comes and the more empowered the birth companion is to aid your in your relaxation during labour.

I hope that helps,
take care and happy birthing.

Thanks for the tips!

I have the CD - I was really after the imagery of walking down the corridor and into your peace centre - I find it easier to focus on vivid imagery like this than on breathing etc. I will use this with your advice for using the book's scripts. :D
