Is it too late

Postby charley9 » Tue Oct 06, 2009 10:55 am

Hi, I am currently 38 weeks pregnant, with my third child, and absolutely terrified of giving birth again. My friend has just completed her Hypnobirthing course, but there is not enough time for me to do the sessions. I was just wondering if it is too late to do it myself, as I have the rainbow cd, and feel that every little would help.

Conatact the person who taught her or another teacher and ask if they can teach you, I have taught people in a week before, I know its suposed to be over 5 sessions but this can be flexible insituations like yours.

Seek out a qualified Hypnotherapist in your area for office sessions. You will want to make sure to interview them beforehand and ask what type of program they have for childbirth using hypnosis, as not all of them already have an effective program in place in their practice. A good one will include at *least* 4 sessions in the office, (6-7 are optimal) with the last one done one week before the estimated due date. It should also include at least one tape or CD to listen to at home by yourself, and one or more cues for the birth companion to learn and practice that helps you to relax and go deeper into hypnosis.

You can also buy the book and easily read it in a few days! I know, I did it (and English is not my native language). :)
It will be very useful. Also, you don't have to do everything in order for it to "work", you can just do as much as you can (I guess). If you are terrified of giving birth, anything would be useful. The first 50 pages of the book have changed my whole understanding of the birth process. Though I have never used Hypnobirthing myself yet, it already gives me so much confidence and calm. I didn't know hypnobirthing one week ago, and now I am different woman and I am sure I could give birth any day now (though I already had two difficult births).
Sorry for the possible mistakes, English is not my native language. ;)

Sorry for the mistake. I didn't realise that post was two year-old.
