Hello,
I am a midwife and I am writing on this forum discussion board as I am currently undertaking some research on hypno birth. I am just wondering if anyone can help with any research that currently exists ?

I know there is not much current research out there, and was just wondering if anyone knew of any ... such as a randomised controlled trial ... there is a lot of qualitative research with womens positive views and not as much quantitative ....

both in the USA and at the Institute to ask if they know of any or could post your request on The Nest (the USA forum)
Also try June Poole in Jersey june@hypnobirthingjersey as she is a midwife collecting data I believe
There is a reasonable amount of evidence to support the use of hypnosis for childbirth (Gallagher2001, Martin et al, 2001, Letts et al 1993, Harmon 1990) and probably more.

Try the Cochrane Review - there was a study just published last month on hypnosis for childbirth.
