Can someone explain Sleep Breathing and Slow Breathing pleas

Postby tillybilly » Sat May 15, 2010 8:08 am

I'm doing the course with a local lady AND reading the book and I thought I had 'got' it but on reading the book last night I think I've confused myself a bit. :?

I 'get' birth breathing - you draw a deep breath in and then breath it out as if you are blowing those 'childrens bubbles' ie keep relaxed jaw/mouth and at the same time visulise that the breath is going down and out of your vagina?? Is that right?

Then Slow/Sleep breathing I get one of them is you breath in a long breathe whilst counting up to 20 and inflating your tummy like a balloon. You use this whilst having a surge? Is that right? Then you exhale just as slowly.

The 3rd breathe I'm not sure I get - can someone please explain it to me? I never knew there were so many ways to breath lol!! :D

sleep breathing and slow breathing are different

sleep breathing-you do this when you want to relax, for example when trying to get to sleep, it slows our body down and lots of people end up doing it when they are between surges towards the end-they just aren't thinking about it. You breathe in for 4 and out for 8, don't worry too much about focusing on the numbers.

slow breathing-this is the one you do when your body is surgeing. Breathe in to the count of 20 and blow your tummy up.

birth breathing-you gave a good description of this and it sounds like you have got it :)

Oh no you don't think you will do you? Its too early-though you might not feel like its too early on a hot day/warmer day like today
Will hopefully see you tomorrow and go over the breathing again.
