Are the classes really beneficial?

Postby JayneG » Fri Jan 27, 2012 12:40 pm

Hi Everyone,
I have read Marie's book and have been listening to a CD for a few weeks now. Initially we didn't plan on attending a class but now I am starting think it would be best to. If we are going to do this then may as well go for it! But the cost of courses is quite high so I am still abit undecided as to whether I will really benefit. Keen to hear other people's views on classes and whether you think it really makes a difference to your birth experience in the end. Thanks!

Hi Jayne
I am a HypnoBirthing practitioner, so guess my opinion is somewhat biased - but there is so much more in the courses than the book - I haven't had a couple yet who felt that the course had been unnecessary having read the book. There is so much that we cover that is 'hands on' and not in the book - especially getting rid of any fears and concerns you may have around your birthing.
Good luck Jayne

ps - maybe you could give a couple of local HypnoBirthing (The Mongan Method) practitioners - as listed on the UK site - a call and they would be more than willing to answer any questions that you may have. I am always happy to do this - especially as I feel it is important that you feel you would be comfortale working with your chosen practitioner as you are working together over a period of 12 hours and often talking about very 'personal' stuff!!

I would also recommend the classes if you can do them. That said I used the technique with amazing success with just the book and CD. It so changed my life that I trained as a practitioner and can now see how I was able to achieve what I did, I had 100% belief, expectancy, desire and commitment. You are welcome to ask anymore questions you may have on this forum or like Dee said, contact your nearest practitioner and have a chat. Some have payment plans if that helps.

Regards,
Soshanna

I am sure you will get a lot out of them - for life, not just for pregnancy and birth.
Enjoy - and relax!!
I hope you have a calm, positive birthing experience
Take care
