I live in Barcelona, Spain and am really keen on using hypnobirthing for my second baby which is due in April. I haven't come across this here though - giving birth in this country tends to be highly medicalised. If anyone knows of any practitioners over here I'd be really grateful if you could pass on details.

Would you be able to make it to England for a weekend and then do the course with a practitioner over a weekend? I checked http://www.hypnobirthing.com/founder1.htm and there doesn't seem to be anyone in Spain!
I'm sure I once heard of a birth center that did HypnoBirthing classes in the Costa Del sol area. If I find the information I will post again, good luck, Danielle

Thanks for your reply. So is it possible to do the course just in a weekend? I only just got the book and haven't had a chance to start reading it yet, but I'd presumed you'd need to practise in between sessions. I'm not sure I'll be able to fly to the UK anyway, as I'll be 27 weeks pregnant by mid January, and I won't have time to fly before then. I'd emailed hypnobirthing.co.uk and got a reply saying there were no qualified practitioners in Spain, but the book would certainly help me. We'll see! Maybe I could get my friend who's a practitioner to come and visit me one weekend before the baby is due .
