Can I work with just the books & CD's

Postby Cbear » Wed May 31, 2006 1:19 pm

Just before my 1st daughter was born, my blood pressure shot up. I had to be induced and was encouraged to have an epidural. I did not want this and decided to proceed on my own.

Although I had not heard of hypnobirthing then, I did manage to stay calm and deliver my daughter naturally.

I am locking to see if I can build on this for my baby due in Sept. I have bought and read the book and have been listening to the relaxation CD. I have found this good - although I am always asleep before the end.

I wanted some advice on if I can prepare myself with the books & CD's. I am not a great one for classes and to be honest with a lot of other commitments before the birth, the cost is an issue.

Can I draw on my last experience and build on it with the books & CDs. Will I need to listen to the CD's in during the labour? I would welcome any advice or insights

Book and CD's

Good for you. It sounds like you "get" it, realizing that you ARE in control, and CAN have the birth you want. Can I suggest you read the book through and then call a practitioner to discuss anything you wish. You can call me if you wish (01488-685151).
The classes provide you with many tools you can use during your birthing. And works with your partner. And gives concise information about breathing with surges, breathing your baby down etc. Obviously they are much more comprehensive than just reading the book. See how it goes, and give me a call if you wish.
With regards, Tara
