Hypnobirthing techniques

Postby khamy » Sun Nov 02, 2008 10:38 am

Hello

I'd like to know if it's possible to use hypnobirthing techiques to relax in our everyday lives after childbirth. For example after a busy and stressful day at work.

yes-I have two kids and use them alot :)

Also I play the comfort zone cd out loud and it helps to relax them both (they were both hb babies).

I taught a dad who had some exams shortly fter the birth of his baby, while doing the classes he mentioned he was worried about not having time to study after the birth of the baby, and the exam was expensive and he wouldn't be able to afford it again. I heard from him a few months later, he said he got into the exam, and forgot everything, then he heard my voice saying 'and you can use these techniques at any time' so he did the 5-4-3-2-1 (progressive relaxation) and was then able to do the exam-and passed :) So the HB techniques are things you will be able to take with you and use again!

I've had lots of couples comment on the usefulness of the techniques after the birth. One found it really good for when she was breastfeeding, one used it whenever she had to have injections (she had a needle phobia), and almost all use it for when the baby is crying. There's a great CD you can get for after the birth called HypnoParenting that focusses on the post-birth issues, but the HypnoBirthing techniques can certainly be used for all situations.
